Coronavirus update

At present the school is still only open to vulnerable pupils and the children of frontline workers. Following the statement from the Prime Minister regarding the potential re-opening of schools from the 1st June to particular groups of children, we are currently reviewing our plans and will ensure that you receive updated information as soon as possible.

In the meantime, if you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact the school on 07904 862881.

Online home learning

The Government made the decision to close schools from Monday 23rd March 2020, as part of the strategy to minimise the spread of the coronavirus.

Here at kaizen, we will continue our learning from home.
KS2 and Year 2 teachers will be setting home learning for our pupils on Google Classroom. EYFS and Year 1 teachers will set home learning through our home learning zone. We have also gathered a selection of information and links to support you with your learning at home. You can access the pages here.

Kaizen Who is Who

We've got a challenge for you this week. Can you work out who all these Kaizen team members are? Here are our younger selves and in disguise. See who you can work out? Good luck!

Dear Parents and Carers,

We wish you a very warm welcome to our school and are honoured you have chosen our school for your child’s education. Kaizen Primary School is a very dynamic place to learn. We value learning through experience; learning core skills in ways that are memorable and enable the children to apply these skills in all aspects of life. We very much value children as leaders of themselves, others and valuable contributors to the local community.

Our very special school, deserves a special name – hence Kaizen. It’s a Japanese word, which means making continuous improvement to your life by putting effort in every day. We talk to the children every day about their continuous learning journey. Each day is an important one as they take small steps towards big dreams.  Kaizen is an Eko School benefiting from the challenge and support that the Trust provides.

Learning is central to everything at Kaizen even our class names, Smiles, Chuckles, Discover, Explore, Voyage, Adventure, Challenge, Investigate, Curiosity, Inquisitive, Innovation, Inspiration, Engage, Endeavour, Wisdom and Wonder, tell you what learning is like here.

The curriculum at Kaizen motivates the children to ask questions, see connections between things and enables the children be self-reflective about the world around them. With these high levels of engagement and the outstanding levels of care and support the children receive, means the children achieve the highest possible standards.

This was recognised when we achieved our Outstanding grade from Ofsted in June 2015. We have since gone on to become a National Teaching School which means we can both spread our great practice to other schools and learn from them too. This makes sure we keep our practice the very best it can be.

We have a wide range of after school clubs on offer too, as well as Breakfast Club and After School Club. As well as supporting working parents and those in full time education this provision enables children to build wider social links in the safe environment of school.

We are all passionate that children develop a life-long love of learning and are looking forward to working in partnership with you. Come and see us and begin our journey together to achieve amazing things.
