Equality Objectives

It is against the law to discriminate against anyone because of:

  • age
  • being or becoming a transsexual person
  • being married or in a civil partnership
  • being pregnant or on maternity leave
  • disability
  • race including colour, nationality, ethnic or national origin
  • religion, belief or lack of religion/belief
  • sex
  • sexual orientation

These are called ‘protected characteristics’.

The Kaizen Equalities Objectives for 2017/18 are:

  • Ensure that staff from Black and Minority Ethnic backgrounds (BAME) are given access to high quality leadership support and professional development for progression, so that the Senior Leadership Team (SLT) is more representative of the wider school team.

  • To ensure children with SEND continue to make good rates of progress.

  • New arrivals, who are new to English, make swift progress in acquiring English, ensuring parental engagement supports this.

Kaizen Primary School publishes its Equality Objectives on a four year cycle in line with the Eko Trust Equalities policy
