Vision

Kaizen – meaning small steps to big dreams – is a dynamic, outstanding school.  As part of Eko Trust we work with vigour to ensure all our children have the best possible start in their learning and at every stage of their educational transition.  Our 4 key values drive everything we do.

We are COLLABORATIVE, RESILIENT, REFLECTIVE AND INCLUSIVE.

We’re COLLABORATIVE

We have a multi-layered leadership structure, developing leaders at all levels. Your child will benefit from highly skilled teachers and leaders, working hard to ensure your child receives the best possible education. We believe everyone is a learner and a leader, so our staff receive high quality professional development in a range of innovative ways. This collaborative development means we work together on key areas of our school improvement plan, continually researching and using the best teaching methods which bring real improvement to your child’s learning.

We’re INCLUSIVE

We are an inclusive community that welcomes all children and families. We have a broad and balanced curriculum that offers support and additional guidance when needed. We offer personalised curriculums for those children who need it, with a highly skilled team that provide fantastic teaching and learning for children with a range of needs. All children are supported to reach their full potential, making excellent progress at our school regardless of their learning need, disability, gender or ethnicity.

We’re RESILIENT

Wellbeing and positive mental health is at the core of everything we do. We have a Senior Leader that is dedicated to supporting our children’s and staff’s wellbeing through the work that he does. Children are taught that making mistakes is part of the learning process and that being resilient means we never give up. Children start to experience residential visits from Year 4 with camping, then Fairplay House in Year 5 and then France in Year 6. These experiences further develop their independence and resilience to be away from home. Even though these visits are not taking place at present, our Forest School ensures all the children have outside learning experiences throughout the week, as well as beautiful playgrounds, a huge field, pond and zen zone areas. We also run therapeutic work through our THRIVE programme delivered by our dedicated pastoral team.

We're REFLECTIVE

Children and staff reflect on their achievements and successes day. As part of our long term planning we pause throughout the year to celebrate and reflect on what is working well and how we can further improve our educational offer. We listen to parent and wider community feedback and act on this swiftly. We never stand still. We are always striving to further develop our school and what it has to offer.

Come and see us in action.
