Sporting Achievements

October 2016

The first term of Physical Education 2016 has seen the entire school work on tag rugby skills.  KS1 children have focused on skill circuits and conditioned games to develop the basic skills of tag rugby.  KS2 children have used previously learned skills in conditioned games and small sided games. This culminated in a year 5 and 6 mixed tag rugby tournament over two weeks which saw the children play a round robin format.  Next term we continue with other invasion games including basketball, netball, team handball and hockey.

Kaizen Primary School win Newham League

The boys of Kaizen Primary School have won the Newham Primary League for the second time in three years, beating Kier Hardie in the final to guarantee bringing the silver wear back to the school in Plaistow.

Having won the league in 2014 and been runner s up in 2015, this year the team produced an unbeaten run (W8; D1; L0), winning the final game 2-1. The thrilling match saw Kier Hardie take the lead, but goals after the break from Johneli Lungikisa and Joe Ship saw the team victorious.

Head Teacher Rebekah Iiyambo said “we are immensely proud of the boys, who have been amazing all year”.

Joint Head Coaches, Stephen Lawrence and Jason Summers commented “they have worked extremely hard and been fully committed to the team throughout the season. This is a fully deserved result”.
